Blue Ridge Pride Oral History Project
We are a community-based oral history and physical artifacts archive dedicated to preserving LGBTQIA+ history of the south. The archive offers community training workshops (where you learn how to do oral history interviews), produces a variety of educational media (from K12 lesson plans to historical walking tours), and hosts community outreach events for intentional gathering among LGBTQIA+ communities.
Densho
Densho documents the testimonies of Japanese Americans who were unjustly incarcerated during World War II before their memories are extinguished. We offer these irreplaceable firsthand accounts, coupled with historical images and teacher resources, to explore principles of democracy and promote equal justice for all.
Hawaii Stories of Change—Kokua Hawaii Oral History Project
When several poor minority communities in Hawaii faced evictions in the 1970s, groups of volunteer organizers and their associates were willing to stand between the tenants and the bulldozers. The book, Hawaii Stories of Change, includes interviews with Kokua Hawaii organizers, community leaders and associates who helped to successfully resist the evictions and contributed to the beginnings of the Hawaii Renaissance. The book was funded by a grant from the Hawaii Council for the Humanities, plus assistance from the Hawaii People's Fund.
Takoma Park African American Oral History Project
In 2019, Historic Tacoma launched an initiative designed to collect and preserve the reflections of older African Americans who had been longtime residents of our city's historically Black neighborhoods—which centered around the "Hill (Ritchie, Geneva, and Oswego Avenues) and the "Bottom" (Cherry and Colby Avenues off of Sligo Creek Parkway), along with smaller settlements such as the one at the foot of Lincoln Avenue at Maple Avenue--to elevate their voices and stories and share them with the larger community.
Laguna Woods Community Oral History Project
The Laguna Woods History Center has an ongoing project to interview community leaders in order to document their story and preserve our heritage.

Eastern Kentucky African American Migration Project
The Eastern Kentucky African American Migration Project (EKAAMP) documents photos, oral histories, and other items related to African Americans in Eastern Kentucky.
Julian Bond Oral History Project
The Julian Bond Oral History Project, sponsored by the School of Public Affairs at American University, documents the professional rise of Julian Bond from his early years in the Atlanta student movement, his work as a founding member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and his rise to national prominence.
National Museum of African American History & Culture Civil Rights History Project
The Civil Rights History Project (CRHP) provides faces and voices to many of the previously unknown individuals who made valuable contributions to the Civil Rights Movement.
SNCC Digital Gateway
The SNCC Digital Gateway: Learn from the Past, Organize for the Future, Make Democracy Work is a collaborative project of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee Legacy Project, Duke’s Center for Documentary Studies, and Duke University LIbraries. This documentary website tells the story of how young activists in SNCC united with local people in the Deep South to build a grassroots movement for change that empowered the Black community and transformed the nation.
South Asian Oral History Project
The SAOHP represents one of the first attempts in the U.S. to record pan-South Asian immigrant experiences in the Pacific Northwest using the medium of oral history.
Teachers in the Movement
Teachers in the Movement explores teachers’ ideas and pedagogy inside and outside the classroom during the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. From teachers themselves, we learn how their pedagogy, curricula, and community work were instrumental forms of activism that influenced the movement.

The New York Public Library's Community Oral History Project is an initiative taking place at NYPL branches that aims to document, preserve, and celebrate the rich history of the city’s unique communities by collection the stories of people who have experienced it firsthand.
The Seattle Civil Rights & Labor History Project
This multi-media website brings the vital history of Seattle’s civil rights movements to life with scores of video oral histories, hundreds of rare photographs, documents, movement histories, and personal biographies, more than 300 pages in all. Based at the University of Washington, the Seattle Civil Rights and Labor History Project is a collaboration between community groups and UW faculty and students.
Tibetan Oral History Archive Project
The Tibetan Oral History and Archive Project (TOHAP) is a digital online web archive of oral history interviews in Tibetan and Chinese with accompanying written transcripts (in English) that documents the social and political history of modern Tibet.
Veterans Oral History Project
The Veterans History Project (VHP) of the Library of Congress American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the firsthand narratives of U.S. military veterans who served from World War I through more recent conflicts and peacekeeping missions, so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand what they saw, did and felt during their service.

Jewish Heritage Collection Oral Histories
The Jewish Heritage Collection Oral Histories, archived in Special Collections as the College of Charleston's Addlestone Library, offer an inside perspective on the lives of Jewish residents of South Carolina’s cities and small towns. The majority of interviews focus on first- and second-generation Americans of the twentieth century, and address topics such as immigration, assimilation, antisemitism, Jewish/African-American relations, making a living, and religious life.
SC LGBTQ: Oral Histories, Archives, & Outreach
These oral histories, a part of the SC LGBTQ: Oral Histories, Archives, and Outreach Project, are narratives of mostly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) people in South Carolina. The oral histories are archived in Special Collections at the College of Charleston’s Addlestone Library and are part of the SC LGBTQ’s mission to also collect and make accessible archival collections that document the LGBTQ experience in the Lowcountry and beyond.

The Voices of Southern Hospitality: Oral Histories from Life in the Lowcountry project is a student-driven and community-centered oral history project that documents the diverse opinions, experiences, and life stories of people who live and work in the Carolina Lowcountry.
EastWest Institute Society Oral History Project
