What You Need to Know about Making Video Projects at the Library

Computers With Video Editing Software @Addlestone Library

iMovie - Mac Computers

Digital Media Workstations @ Addlestone Library

The Library has 3 Mac workstations with a variety of specialized software and equipment that may be reserved by College of Charleston students, faculty, and staff.

In addition to the digital workstations, the following items are also available for checkout to assist with multimedia projects:

For video project post production iMovie and Adobe Premiere are installed on all Digital Project Workstations. If you use iMovie or other video editing software on these workstations please be aware of the following:

  • Digital Project Workstations are available on a first come first served basis. However, users without reservations must leave when requested by an individual with proof of a valid reservation, i.e., a confirmation email of the reservation. Reservations have priority.  If you are using a Production Lounge computer without a valid reservation, you must leave when asked by a patron with a valid reservation. Please review the Addlestone Library Spaces policy for additional information.
  • The computers are public computers and your files may be deleted by another user. Please backup and store all of your original files. Google Drive, available as part of your College of Charleston Gmail is a good option.
  • iMovie projects require planning to be worked on from multiple computers. Consider using an external drive for your project library if you need to be able to move your project around.
  • Please decide on the software and machine you wish to use BEFORE starting your project so that you can plan accordingly and request assistance if needed.
  • Digital Project Workstations are in an open area.
  • If you need to hear audio, please bring your own headphones.
