Commemoration & Landscapes Guide: Home

Resource guide about the activities and initiatives to tell a fuller history of the College of Charleston

""

Overview and Purpose

This project, originally a part of the College of Charleston's 250th anniversary, is now maintained by the Committee on Commemoration & Landscapes.  It explores many of the diverse pasts and presences that are part of our storied campus.

This guide is for anyone wishing to research C of C’s history and the histories of students, faculty, staff, and community members who have been part of C of C or have been affected by C of C’s history. It’s been developed by the CCL, which works to interpret the histories of diverse communities and groups that have been part of the College and our surrounding neighborhood. Browse this research guide to see how some of these stories have been interpreted and to find sources for your research on the history of the College and our neighborhood.  Our continued research will further our current core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
