Open access publishing with Springer Nature is available through a first-come, first-serve voucher system for all Carolina Consortium member libraries who have signed onto the deal. The expected number of vouchers available to Carolina Consortium member libraries for 2024 is 522 total.

If you would like to publish open access with Springer Nature, you must:

  • Be the corresponding author of the article and currently affiliated with a participating institution. Per Springer Nature, the corresponding author is the person who handles the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process and is the point of contact after the article is published.
  • Confirm that the journal to which you are submitting the manuscript is eligible.
  • Use at least one method of recognition when submitting your publication- these include selecting CofC has your institution, using your CofC email address, or submitting the manuscript from CofC's network. Carolina Consortium requests that you use your institutional email address.
