Audacity is a free, downloadable, open-source audio recording and editing program. You can edit and combine multiple tracks in Audacity, so it is a good choice if you have complex editing needs. Audacity is already installed on library computers, including Production Lounge workstations.
GarageBand is Apple's free music and audio-editing software for Mac, iPadOS, and iOS. It is designed for music-making but can be used for spoken audio, as well. GarageBand is installed on the digital project workstations.
