Addlestone 127 is typically arranged classroom-style with rows of tables and chairs facing the front. The front of the room has a large dry-erase surface and a projection screen that lowers from the ceiling as needed.
The typical setup accommodates 24 people seated at the tables. The room can be arranged with additional chairs and tables. If tables are stored around the sides, the room can fit up to 49 people.
Tables in 127 are equipped with power outlets, which must be plugged into the floor outlets. The position of tables and outlets should be considered if power will be needed.
Presenters have the option of using the integrated computer or screen casting from a laptop or mobile device.
Need to host a hybrid meeting in this space? You can use the built-in cameras and microphone or reserve the Meeting Owl.
The room is equipped with a ceiling-mounted videocamera and microphone, making it possible for audience members and presenters to actively participate in videoconferences. To use the built-in camera and microphone, use the integrated computer rather than a separate device.
Reserve and check out one of the library's Meeting Owls. The Meeting Owl 3 is a 360-degree camera, mic, and speaker device that autofocuses on whoever is speaking and offers plug-and-play connectivity with most laptops and online meeting platforms.
Use the power adapter to connect the Owl to a power source and use the USB cable to connect the Owl to a laptop. On the laptop, set the Owl as your microphone, camera, and speaker (if desired). Other in-room participants who are in the virtual meeting should remain muted (both microphone and speaker) while the Owl is in use to avoid feedback loops.
In default mode, the Owl will use AI to track and focus on speakers. It takes up to 5 seconds for the Owl to recognize and react. To shorten this time, turn on Presenter Enhance. Presenter Enhance can be turned on by pressing the smiley face button on the device (located above the cords).
For additional control over Owl settings, install the optional app on your mobile or desktop device.
