Room 227 can accommodate a maximum of 49 people.
Addlestone 227 contains chairs and tables that can be arranged in a variety of configurations. A podium, dry erase board, and projector screen are at the front of the room.
The booking request form includes details about each setup option.
Room 227 has a laptop in the room that you can access using your College credentials. Guests of the College can use the instructions posted on the laptop to log in.
There is a Crestron panel on the podium to power the projector and automatically deploy the projection screen. Provided cables allow connecting your personal device, then choose the relevant source from the Crestron Panel (USB-C for Mac, HDMI for PC). You also have the option to wirelessly connect to the projector by choosing the Screen Share button and following the instructions projected to the screen.
A Doc Cam can be accessed from the right side panel of the podium. Choose Doc Cam from the Crestron panel to display to the screen.
A wireless handheld microphone is on the podium. The power button is located on the handle of the microphone, and the Crestron panel must be activated. Additionally, a wireless lapel microphone is available for checkout at the Access and Instruction Desk on the first floor.
Additional equipment is available at the Access and Instruction desk, including dry erase markers and a wireless slide advancer/laser pointer.
Need to host a hybrid meeting in this space?
Reserve and check out one of the library's Meeting Owls. The Meeting Owl 3 is a 360-degree camera, mic, and speaker device that autofocuses on whoever is speaking and offers plug-and-play connectivity with most laptops and online meeting platforms.
Use the power adapter to connect the Owl to a power source and use the USB cable to connect the Owl to a laptop. On the laptop, set the Owl as your microphone, camera, and speaker (if desired). Other in-room participants who are in the virtual meeting should remain muted (both microphone and speaker) while the Owl is in use to avoid feedback loops.
In default mode, the Owl will use AI to track and focus on speakers. It takes up to 5 seconds for the Owl to recognize and react. To shorten this time, turn on Presenter Enhance. Presenter Enhance can be turned on by pressing the smiley face button on the device (located above the cords).
For additional control over Owl settings, install the optional app on your mobile or desktop device.
The podium microphone is not functional. A repair is underway. (October 2024)
