Addlestone Library is open to the College of Charleston community and affiliates via card access. Visitors may access Addlestone Library Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and must present a government issued ID and sign in upon entry.

CofC Libraries Instruction and Assessment: Assessment Initiatives, 2015-2016

CofC Librarians and Archivists are available to provide credit bearing, scheduled, and point of need instruction to ensure users have access to regular and timely instruction in the use of library and other learning/information resources.

Assessment Initiatives

Library Instruction and General Education Assessment Curriculum Mapping Proposal (2015)

  • By designing specific information literacy signature assignments, instruction, and assessment artifacts, the Library will provide avenues to work in tandem with general education assessment measures to define, develop, and track information literacy SLOs that complement the institutional general education competencies and contribute to institutional effectiveness.   

Archives (2016)

  • Provided feedback on Assessment Plan for Archives and bridge to special lectures system wide. 

Special Lectures (2015)

  • develop a standard set of learning outcomes based on the ACRL Framework for information literacy that can be used for a variety of library instructional activities (in conjunction with developing and revising a standard assessment instrument for one-shot courses and adopting an assessment methodology (KWL and one minute papers) that will be used in future assessment efforts.
